Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with hot water quenching. Machining is done on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability compared to the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 56.01mm in size and has twin rings.

FULL DESCRIPTION

Vertex Grade F Twin Ring Piston for 125cc Engines

The Vertex Grade F 56.01mm Twin Ring Piston is engineered for maximum performance and reliability in high-output 125cc engines. Designed by industry-leading experts, this piston combines advanced metallurgical techniques with precision machining to ensure a perfect fit and long-lasting durability.

Superior Construction and Material Science

Each piston is manufactured from high-quality Low-Ex silicon-charged aluminium alloys. The casting process is subjected to a state-of-the-art heat treatment in automated implants, refining the internal structure of the material for enhanced strength and thermal resistance. The final shaping is achieved through advanced CNC machinery and diamond-tipped tooling to ensure exacting tolerances and a refined surface finish.

Advanced Coating Technology

This piston features a dual-layer coating system designed to handle the rigours of high-performance operation:

  • Molybdenum Bisulphite Coating: A specialized black coating that significantly reduces friction during the critical break-in period and throughout the operating cycle.
  • Phosphate Coating: Inspired by Formula One engineering, the phosphate base provides superior surface adhesion for the Molybdenum layer. This creates a harder surface finish and doubles the durability of the coating, ensuring consistent performance over an extended service life.

Key Features

  • Grade F sizing at 56.01mm for precise cylinder clearance.
  • Twin ring design for optimal compression sealing and heat transfer.
  • Rigorous manual and automatic quality control checks for consistent manufacturing standards.
  • Designed to resist wear and reduce engine friction during high-RPM use.
  • Built to exceed standard aftermarket component expectations.
