Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with silicon content of 12%, 18%, or 21% depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a heat treatment process involving solubilization and quenching in hot water. Machining is done using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended coating durability. This piston has a bore size of 53.98mm and is Grade D.
