Gas Gas FSE 450 2003-2004 Grade D 94.98mm STD Compression
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by hot water quench. Machining is done using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all-over Phosphate Coating, inspired by Formula One engine developments, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities, doubling the durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston has a standard compression and a 94.98mm bore size.
