Grade A 53.94mm 12 Degree VHM Single Ring Piston. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon depending on the application. They are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is done using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling coating durability.
