VHM Single Ring Piston, 53.95mm bore, 12 degree. Grade B. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is done using CNC machines and diamond tools. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended coating durability.
