Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process involving solubilization and quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. The pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and some models feature a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, porosity, and superior adhesion, extending coating durability.
