They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with hot water quenching. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating has been introduced, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is a Grade B, twin ring, replica piston with a bore of 66.35mm.
