Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with Silicon content from 12% to 21%. The pistons are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a high-tech heat treatment with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is done using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, inspired by Formula One engines, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating for enhanced durability. This piston is Grade B and measures 53.96mm.
