They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is performed on CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A newer Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is a replica, Grade C, with a 53.97mm bore diameter.
