They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with hot water quenching. Machining is done using advanced CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. They also incorporate a new Phosphate Coating, increasing hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. Piston diameter is 76.95mm with a compression ratio of 13.2:1.
