Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with silicon content varying from 12% to 21% based on application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed following Formula One engine advancements, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion, doubling coating durability. This piston has a Grade B specification, 95.97mm standard bore, and 12.0:1 compression ratio.
