Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and superior adhesion for extended durability. This piston is 95.96mm with a 13.0:1 compression ratio.
