Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content, depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, with material structure refined through a high-tech heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with hot water solubilization. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for Molybdenum Coating, doubling coating durability. This piston has a bore size of 63.96mm and is a twin ring design.
