Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon aluminum alloys (12%, 18%, or 21% depending on application) via gravity cast or hydraulic forging. The material structure is refined with a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over, Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, extending durability. Piston size is 55.97mm, Grade C.
