Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with the material structure refined through a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, and also feature a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, porosity, and superior adhesion qualities, doubling coating durability.
