KTM SX 50 2001-2008 GRADE A/B 39.46mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using advanced CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. The pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Additionally, Vertex offers a new Phosphate Coating with increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. Piston diameter is 39.46mm.
