KTM SX 50 2001-2008 GRADE C/D 39.47mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and then refined with a heat treatment process. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating is available for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability. This piston is 39.47mm and is Grade C/D.
