KTM SX 50 2001-2008 GRADE E/F 39.48mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and refined through a high-tech heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all-over Phosphate Coating has been introduced, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for the Molybdenum Coating, extending durability.
