Athena Forged Piston Kit for Yamaha WR/YZ 250

Crafted using advanced reverse extrusion and cutting-edge CNC machining, this piston boasts dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm. It is constructed from a special high-performance aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, ensuring reliability comparable to Original Equipment (OE) pistons while offering superior resistance and excellent performance.

The piston features a perfectly smooth profile designed for regular flow and optimal flame propagation. Some piston skirts are treated with a molybdenum disulfide coating, applied through screen printing, to further reduce friction, boost performance, and extend durability. Each piston is engineered in Italy and rigorously tested on dynamometer benches and on the track to validate performance in extreme conditions.

This piston kit includes the piston, pin, circlips, and piston rings. The piston rings, produced in Japan with wear-resistant coatings such as PVD or chromium nitride, minimize friction with the cylinder, leading to higher performance and increased longevity. The rings are designed to adapt perfectly to the cylinder liner even at low tangential loads.
