Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys, silicon charged at 12%, 18%, or 21% depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with material structure refined by a high-tech heat treatment process. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, similar to Formula One engine developments, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended coating durability. This piston is Grade C with a 95.47mm standard compression.
