Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys (12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on application). The blank parts are created using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and extended durability. This piston is 55.95mm in size.
