Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys, available in 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is performed using advanced CNC machines and diamond tooling to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes thorough quality control. The pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid in break-in and reduce friction. A newer Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 55.95mm, +2.00mm oversize, and features a single ring.
