Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined through a high-tech heat treatment in an automatic plant with hot water solubilization. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over, Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and extended durability. This piston is +0.50mm oversize with a diameter of 54.45mm.
