Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with hot water quenching. Machining is done using CNC machines and diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Every piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and reduced friction. A new Phosphate Coating, similar to Formula One engine developments, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for the Molybdenum Coating, doubling its durability. This piston is +2.00mm oversize with a 55.95mm diameter and includes a single ring.
