Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon charged aluminum alloys. The pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a high-tech heat treatment using a quench in hot water. Machining is done on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for extended durability. This piston is oversize at +1mm with a bore of 68.95mm and features twin rings.
