This Athena forged piston kit is engineered for high-performance off-road motorcycles. Manufactured using advanced reverse extrusion and cutting-edge CNC machining, these pistons achieve exceptional dimensional accuracy, with tolerances less than 0.01 mm. Constructed from a specialized high-silicon aluminum alloy, Athena pistons offer enhanced strength and durability, matching the reliability of original equipment while boosting performance.
The piston's smooth profile promotes optimal airflow and efficient flame propagation. Some applications feature a molybdenum disulfide coating on the piston skirt, applied via screen printing, to further reduce friction, thereby increasing performance and extending component life.
Designed and tested in Italy by Athena's R&D department, each piston undergoes rigorous engine dynamometer testing and track validation to ensure performance and reliability under extreme conditions. This piston kit includes the piston, pin, circlips, and piston rings, all of which are replaceable and interchangeable.
The included piston rings, produced in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride), are designed to minimize friction with the cylinder liner, leading to higher performance and increased durability. These rings conform precisely to the cylinder liner even under low tangential load.
