Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability. This piston has a Nikasil bore and a diameter of 53.96mm.

These pistons are crafted from premium Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon-charged aluminium alloys. Depending on the specific application, the silicon content is precisely balanced at 12%, 18%, or 21%. Each piston undergoes either a gravity cast or hydraulic forging process, followed by a sophisticated, automated heat treatment process to refine the material structure and ensure superior strength under high-stress conditions.

Precision Engineering and Coatings

Vertex utilizes state-of-the-art CNC machining and diamond tooling to achieve precise surface finishes tailored to the exact requirements of your engine. To further enhance performance and longevity, these pistons feature a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating, which facilitates a smoother break-in period and reduces internal friction.
