The pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process involving solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. The pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating, developed from Formula One engine advancements, which increases hardness and provides superior adhesion and durability for the Molybdenum Coating.
