Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content. The manufacturing process uses gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment and solubilization quench. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, inspired by Formula One engines, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended durability. This piston is Grade A and has a 12-degree VHM twin ring design with a 53.94mm bore.
