Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon charged aluminium alloys. This piston is 53.97mm in size and features a twin ring design. Vertex pistons utilize a gravity cast or hydraulic forging process, followed by a heat treatment process using an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. The piston is coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and reduced friction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, improved adhesion, and extended coating durability.
