Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon-charged aluminum alloys. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with material structure refined through high-tech heat treatment in an automatic HT implant. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and superior adhesion for extended durability. This twin ring piston has a bore of 66.36mm.
