Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and refined through a high-tech heat treatment process involving solubilization and quenching in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for enhanced coating durability. This piston is Grade D with a 53.95mm diameter and a single ring design.
