Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with material structure refined by a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for extended coating durability. This product is a single ring Pro Race piston with a bore of 56.96mm.
