Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is performed with CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a newer Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, porosity, and Molybdenum Coating durability. This piston has a bore size of 46.95mm and is designated Grade C.

Every piston undergoes rigorous quality control, both manual and automatic, to ensure it meets the highest industry standards for durability and fitment.

Key Features

  • Advanced Alloy Construction: Manufactured with specific silicon-charged aluminium for excellent thermal stability and reduced expansion.
  • Precision Machining: Produced using state-of-the-art CNC technology and diamond tooling for exact surface finishes.
  • Twin Ring Design: Engineered to provide an excellent seal and consistent compression.
  • Molybdenum Bisulphite Coating: A specialized black coating reduces friction during the engine break-in period and assists in smooth operation within the cylinder.
  • Phosphate Coating: Features a durable, high-adhesion phosphate layer that increases surface hardness and significantly extends the lifespan of the Molybdenum coating.
