Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys, 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon charged depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment for material structure refinement. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, increasing hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability. This piston is 76.96mm with a 14.8:1 compression ratio.
