Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes and refined with a hi-tech heat treatment. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This piston has a 76.96mm bore and a 13.9:1 compression ratio.
