Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys, silicon charged to specific percentages based on application. The manufacturing process involves gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability for the Molybdenum Coating. This piston has a bore of 77.96mm and a compression ratio of 15.05:1.
