Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content, depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and enhanced Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability. This piston has a standard compression of 14.1:1 and a bore size of 77.97mm.
