Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, porosity, and enhanced Molybdenum Coating durability. This piston is Grade B, has a standard compression of 13.2:1, and measures 95.97mm.

FULL DESCRIPTION

Vertex High-Performance Standard Compression Piston

Upgrade your engine performance with this premium Vertex piston, engineered for durability and precise power delivery. Designed for riders who demand reliability and peak performance, this Grade B piston features a 95.97mm bore and a 13.2:1 compression ratio, matching OEM standards to ensure optimal engine efficiency.

Advanced Manufacturing and Material Quality

Vertex utilizes high-quality Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon-charged aluminium alloys to ensure structural integrity under extreme thermal stress. Depending on the specific application, these pistons are created via gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes. The material structure is further refined through a state-of-the-art heat treatment process, involving automatic solubilization and hot water quenching, resulting in a piston that is built to withstand rigorous high-RPM environments.

Precision Engineering and Coatings

Every piston is machined using advanced CNC technology and diamond-tipped tools to achieve precise tolerances and specific surface finishes. To enhance longevity and reduce friction, this piston includes two specialized coatings:

  • Molybdenum Bisulphite Coating: A black surface treatment that assists during the critical engine break-in period and significantly reduces friction against the cylinder wall.
  • Phosphate Coating: Borrowed from Formula One engine development, this all-over coating increases surface hardness and provides light porosity. This creates superior adhesion for the Molybdenum layer, effectively doubling the durability of the coating.

Key Features

  • Engineered Precision: Manufactured to exacting standards for a perfect fit and reliable performance.
  • Enhanced Durability: Advanced heat-treated alloy construction resists deformation and wear.
  • Reduced Friction: Specialized coatings improve lubrication and promote a smoother engine break-in.
  • Quality Assured: Each unit undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control inspections before leaving the factory.
