KTM EXC 360 / 380 1996-2001 GRADE A 77.94mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex (low expansion) Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using either a gravity cast or hydraulic forging process. The material structure is refined using a hi-tech Heat Treatment process completed in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools. Every Vertex piston passes through a rigorous manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid during break-in and reduce friction. Vertex has also introduced a new, all over, Phosphate Coating which has a slight hardness increase combined with a light surface porosity that exhibits superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. This piston is Grade A and measures 77.94mm.
