Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and improved Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability.
