ATHENA Cast Piston Kit with Ø 47.55 mm bore diameter. This piston is designed for Athena Big Bore Cylinder Kit 082002.B and offers a displacement of 70cc. Produced with cutting-edge CNC machining tools, it ensures dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm. Made from special high-performance materials (nickel, silica, and aluminum alloys), it provides reliability, greater resistance, and excellent performance. The piston features a perfectly smooth profile for regular flow and flame propagation, and some skirts are treated with a molybdenum disulfide coating to reduce friction, enhance performance, and improve durability. The piston rings are produced in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) for increased durability and perfectly adapt to the cylinder liner. This kit contains the piston, pin, circlips, and piston rings. Athena pistons are manufactured using advanced CNC machining tools, ensuring precise dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm. This meticulous process guarantees the same level of reliability as Original Equipment (OE) pistons while offering increased resistance and improved performance.
The piston features a perfectly smooth profile designed for regular airflow and optimal flame propagation. Additionally, some pistons include a molybdenum disulfide coating on the skirts, applied through screen printing. This treatment further reduces friction, boosting both performance and longevity.
Developed in Italy by the Athena R&D department, each piston undergoes rigorous testing on engine dynamometer benches and on the track to validate its performance under extreme conditions. The kit includes piston rings manufactured in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase retention and durability, ensuring a perfect seal with the cylinder liner even at low tangential loads.
