Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating, used in Formula One engines, offers increased hardness and superior adhesion qualities, doubling coating durability. Piston diameter is 53.98mm. This is a single ring piston for a 125cc engine.
